Therapist in London

A little about me

I identify as a survivor, and my professional interest has always been in Mental Health. I am an Accredited Psychotherapist with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and have worked in London, New York, and Athens. I have vast experience working as a primary counsellor in leading NHS, Charitable Organisations, Third Sector, a global Employee Assistance Programme and my Private Practice, and I see how individuals transform when they are able to voice their concerns, manage difficult situations and sail through the therapeutic process.

Early on I got fascinated by the human experience and how a person's mental health could be a continuum and an important factor for their quality of life. For this, I acquired extensive experience on various psychological and behavioural issues varying from mild to moderate difficulties to complex mental health conditions. I have been fascinated by the ways our minds (which is our brains and existence) and bodies work and how the mind-body connection can impact us negatively or positively accordingly. I believe we can change our lives and live with the quality we deserve in our relationships and ourselves when we can alter blocks into positive tools and steps, building a healthier self as we can make more sense of who we really are; which is a process, every time.

My knowledge has built through leading institutions, hard work and a wealth of life experiences, and I never stop being humbled and feel gratitude for the changes I see in the Counselling Room. My main focus is always on the clients, their challenges and their individual journey, and I respect their decision to decide where, how and when they want to navigate.Through my practice I believe the clients are the experts in their journey and I, as a counsellor, help them navigate towards the exodus of what each wants it to be.

I have worked for a leading Employee Assistance Program for the last nine years, which helped me understand personal and global circumstances that can trigger mental health challenges to the individual, his family and social and work-related issues. For the last five years, I have worked in a leading financial institution-through their EAP, which allowed me to enhance my expertise and experience with counselling and psychotherapy in the banking sector and financial services. My thesis, a literature review for University College London UCL, helped me formulate work-related stress in the banking sector, which is transactional between employee's personal, family, social and work-related environment. I investigated work-related stress in the financial sector and the predictors, prevalence, and impact on mental and physical health and the effects of interventions on employees, proving Counselling is one of the most important interventions with considerably positive results for the business sector.

I believe Therapy can be the best investment you have ever made, and you can change, improve and enhance your life by taking the first step. You will learn more about yourself, what is your core and your pillars and what you use as learned behaviours. You will discover the causes of your worries and problems and find the solutions that will make you live a happier, more fulfilled life-a life you deserve.
